Welcome to the website of Cardiff and South-East Wales Cyclists’ Touring Club (CTC). The CTC is a UK-wide organisation that campaigns for cyclists’ rights and promotes cycling in a variety of forms: touring, leisure, commuting and family. It has local groups in over 100 UK towns and cities, and we are the local group for Cardiff and SE Wales. We organise weekend and Wednesday evening cycle rides, and some social events too. Our rides are almost entirely on-road, using lanes, cyclepaths and quieter routes wherever possible. We ride at a steady-to-leisurely pace, with frequent regrouping-stops, and usually a café- or pub-stop en route.
You don’t have to be a member of the CTC to try out our rides, so why not come along and see if it’s for you. All rides are free. If after three rides you’re hooked, then you will be expected to join the CTC. Full details can be found on the CTC website.
Meet us on a Saturday morning over a coffee and cake, and an optional bike ride, at the Pedal Power Café, Pontcanna: 10 January, 7 February, and 7 March. If you’d like to find out more about Cardiff and SE Wales CTC, come and say hello at Pedal Power Café. We’ll be in the café from 9.30 a.m. and will head off on a ride (optional) around the lanes at 10.30 on the Saturdays below. The ride will be about 25 to 30 mile and be at an easy pace so that we can ride together. The rides will be on road and getting out of Cardiff inevitably means the can be busy so if you aren’t comfortable about cycling in traffic or have any other questions come and have a coffee and a chat. Pedal Power, Pontcanna Office, Pontcanna Fields, Cardiff, CF11 9JJ. Any questions please get in touch with the leader listed for the ride on the Weekend rides page.
We hope you enjoy our website, and we look forward to seeing you out on a ride or at one of our events soon.
