We organize a regular programme of Wednesday evening rides starting 6.45 p.m. and usually taking in a pub en route. We always ride as a group and at a steady pace. These rides are an opportunity to get a good ride in with a sociable group of fellow cyclists. We aim to arrive at the destination by 8.00-8.30 p.m. so that you can get a meal if you wish, and to leave by about 10.00 p.m. so we don’t arrive back in Cardiff too late. If you are concerned about arriving back late or if you would just prefer to return home earlier, there are often riders who head back before the main party.
Remember to bring your lights. Membership of the CTC or other organisation that provides you with third party liability insurance is recommended. Please note: you ride at your own risk.
Rides start at 6.45 p.m. (for 7.00 p.m.). The meeting point depends upon the direction of the ride, listed in the ride description, e.g. north [N], east [E], etc. The meeting points are listed below. The miles are the approximate distance for the ride. Also, you can download our list of Wednesday evening rides as a pdf file here.
[W] St Fagan’s crossroads (north of village, near cricket ground and just around the corner towards Peterstone).
[N] Llandaff North station approach, and later at 7.00 p.m. (for 7.15 p.m.) by Tongwynlais School.

[S] Main entrance to Cardiff Castle.
WEDNESDAY 21 July. Ride to celebrate Cycling UK’s Women’s Festival of Cycling. Meet at the main gates of Cardiff Castle at 5.45 for a 6 pm departure. We’ve got a short mid week women’s ride around Cardiff. It will be a sociable ride at a leisurely pace, on cycle paths and shared spaces. The weather should be good enough for a pit stop for refreshments outside. Duration: 2 hr 15 min. Any questions get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org 07875333234.
If you can’t make the ride there’s lots of other great stuff happening https://www.cyclinguk.org/womensfestival
